Northville has one of the most intact Victorian streetscapes in the region — porches, turrets, and painted trim on blocks that have been protected for decades, with Mill Race Historical Village preserving more of it just north of Main Street. The city straddles the Wayne–Oakland county line, which matters for taxes and can matter for school assignment, so the county a house sits in is worth checking early.
Northville Township carries most of the newer housing: golf-course communities around Northville Hills, estate developments like Stonewater and Arcadia Ridge, and established 1970s–90s neighborhoods such as Northville Commons and Steeplechase. Maybury State Park anchors the west side with several hundred acres of trails, and I-275 and M-14 meet minutes away.
