Docksey Subdivision is a named residential plat in Northville Township, about two and a half miles southwest of the Northville centre and covering roughly 25 acres. Taxes come from Northville Township rather than the City of Northville. Northville Public Schools covers most of the township.

Docksey is a small established subdivision off Ridge Road, south of Seven Mile Road. Local courts and wooded parcels give it a more individual residential setting than the larger planned neighborhoods nearby.

Ranch, split-level and other detached-house designs are represented. Much of the original housing dates to the mid-20th century, with renovation and expansion histories that should be assessed separately for each residence.

Seven Mile, Six Mile, Ridge and Napier roads help organize travel through the western township. These neighborhoods generally involve driving for daily errands. A useful tour includes the route to your preferred grocery stop and onward to work, giving you a clearer picture than a broad commute estimate for all of Northville.

Maybury State Park is an important destination in the western Northville area, while downtown Northville offers shops and restaurants farther east. Marv Gans Community Park at Five Mile and Beck is another place to include in a broader area tour.
