Ida
A township community where the envelope and the government are two different things
Ida is an unincorporated community and a census-designated place in Monroe County, with 790 people in the community at the 2020 census inside an Ida Township of 4,783. Most of it lies in Ida Township, with a smaller portion extending north into Raisinville Township.
The distinction that matters here is the one this site keeps making: there is no city of Ida and no village of Ida. The name on the envelope is a post office — the 48140 ZIP — and the government is the township. The township assesses the taxes, the township answers on water and sewer, and the mailing address decides none of it. An Ida address can sit in Ida Township or in Raisinville Township, and those are different tax bills.
Ida Public Schools serves the community, but its footprint is not the same as the mailing address either: the district reaches into parts of Dundee, Ida, La Salle, Monroe and Raisinville townships. So "an Ida address" and "in the Ida school district" are two separate questions with two separate answers, and both are worth asking on a specific parcel before anything else.
I haven’t broken Ida into individual neighborhood pages yet. Every home for sale here is on the site, and I know the streets — tell me what you’re after and I’ll tell you where it is.
