About Dexter Heights
Dexter Heights is a Dexter community. The ground west and north of the city is glacial — kettles, moraines and a genuine chain of small lakes — rather than the flat lake-plain that fills the eastern townships, so rolling ground here is real. It drains better than flat ground, but it concentrates water where it collects, and slope constrains where a structure, a drive or a septic field can go.
Dexter has been a city only since 2014 and is ringed by four townships, its schools are Dexter Community Schools, and it sits between two Metroparks linked by the Border to Border Trail. If you want the lay of the land here, ask me.
