About Dexter Gables
Dexter Gables is a community in the Dexter area of Washtenaw County. The City of Dexter is small and is ringed by Dexter, Webster, Lima and Scio Townships — separate governments with their own tax rates, services and zoning — and Dexter Community Schools serves an area extending well beyond the city limits, following neither the municipal lines nor the postal ones.
Dexter sits between two units of the Huron-Clinton Metroparks system — Hudson Mills at 1,549 acres and Dexter-Huron at 122 acres, both on the Huron River — linked to each other and to the town by the Border to Border Trail. For what actually changes hands here, ask me.
